You might be wondering about Mike Long Outdoors… What we’re trying to accomplish and how we’re going to do it. We launched this site in August of 2012 in order to create a repository for the information I have accumulated over the years. Whether it is bass fishing techniques and insight, or hiking or trail knowledge, or even mountain biking tips and tricks, this website will be a virtual library where I can share what I know with people and in return, they can share their experiences with other like minded individuals.

I’ve spent the better part of my life exploring the great outdoors, getting to know more about the creatures that inhabit our world including reptiles, insects, fish, and plants. I’ve encountered a great many of these interesting creatures while pursuing my other passions like hiking, biking, diving, hunting, camping and, of course, my favorite… fishing. I wondered if other people would find the knowledge I have accumulated of interest, and this website is the product of all that wonder.

My intent is to help others with step-by-step instructional videos, blogs, articles, pictures, and product reviews. As I get better at editing action videos I’m planning to include some documentaries here on Mike Long Outdoors. The outdoor life is out there all around us and it’s up to us to go out there and explore it, enjoy it, and share it with others. If you like what you see, read, and hear, please share that information with a friend or two… we can always use another partner in this great adventure.

Hi Mike I am well known in my home state New Jersey for catching lunker bass between 5 and 10 pounds including a 10lb 4oz monster that missed the record by 8ozs.In 2003 I caught the new state record white crappie weighing 2ibs 14oz..I make my own jigs and spinnerbaits and have been fishing jigs since childhood, I have always admired your passion and wish you success in everything you do.
